molecular formula, C7H7NO2. The other name of
anthranilic acid is 2-amino benzoic acid.

Anthranilic acid is one of them.
Anthranilic acid, the organic precipitating agents,
that forms sparingly soluble product either through co-ordinate linkage or
through ionic linkage with inorganic species.
That is, anthranilic acid is used in inorganic
chemistry for gravimetric estimation of Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+,Zn2+, Cd2+etc.

When alkaline potassium pyrogallate solution absorbs
oxygen gas, then the solution color becomes brown.
Reaction of pyrogallol with oxygen in presence of
caustic potash forms 3-hydroxy cyclohexa-3, 5-diene-1, 2-dione through radical
intermediate.
Finally, 3-hydroxy cyclohexa-3, 5-diene-1, 2-dione
under goes dimerization and forms a molecular compound changing color brown. The
