What is ipso substitution reaction ?
If one or more substituent in an aromatic compound be
substituted by the attack of an electrophilic , then the substitution is said
to an 'ipso substitution' reaction.
‘Ipso substitution ‘
may be also called aromatic electrophilic substitution reaction.
General example of ‘ipso substitution' reaction are as follows,
